The Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway (PKM) is a unique initiative aimed at redefining and generally developing local rail transport in the Tri-City area.
Project overview:
Kraj: Poland
Region: Pomeranian Voivodeship
Klient: Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway S.A.
Rok: 2016, 2017
Czas trwania: 3 months
Nature of Work:
Work on establishing the PKM began in 2015 with the construction of approximately 20 km of new railway lines, serving over 30,000 trains annually. As with many other transport infrastructure projects, it was necessary to verify the actual impact on the surrounding environment once the operations commenced. The service involved conducting a post-implementation analysis, focusing on noise and vibration impacts. A noise map was developed using a three dimensional terrain model (DTM), taking into account the characteristics of the surrounding areas and the technical solutions applied in the project. The client received acoustic maps prepared for various noise source scenarios, both for daytime and.nighttime.
